Jr. Producer (Contract-to-Hire)

The Jr. Producer serves as a multifaceted creative engine for Storyfi, bridging the gap between traditional video production and modern social media strategy to drive high-demand social content for our FI partners.

Role Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Location: Studio, home office, and on-location environments

Reports to: COO/CCO Travel: Up to 10% (primarily in-state Michigan)

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

About Us

Storyfi is a production team driven by a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement. We believe in combining advanced production knowledge with a collaborative spirit to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. Our mission is to deliver video projects that meet the highest technical standards and exceed client expectations.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive Junior Producer to support our production team while leading the charge on social-first content. This role is a hybrid of a Junior Producer and a Social Content Creator, designed for someone who can assist in high-end video shoots while independently executing "social cuts" and digital strategies. You will be involved in all phases—from pre-production planning and on-location support to the creation of engaging social media assets.

What You'll Do

  • Social Strategy & Execution: Pivot traditional long-form content into high-performing social media cuts specifically tailored for credit union platforms.

  • Production Support: Assist in the planning, shooting, and editing of video and audio content for web and digital platforms.

  • Pre-Production Logistics: Support tasks such as location scouting, equipment preparation, and talent coordination.

  • Post-Production & Graphics: Handle footage logging, rough cuts, and basic color correction, with an emphasis on creating motion graphics and visual effects for social reels.

  • Administrative Excellence: Maintain project organization, file management, and media archiving to ensure a seamless workflow.

  • Team Collaboration Leadership: Report directly to the COO/CCO and shadow senior producers to gain practical mentorship.

  • Cross-Functional Sync: Work closely with the production and strategy teams to stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging social technologies.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven Interest: A strong passion for visual storytelling and a deep understanding of social media trends.

  • Technical Familiarity: Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and a basic understanding of production workflows.

  • Educational Background: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in visual/media communications or a related professional experience.

  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in video production; a portfolio demonstrating social-first content creation is a major plus.

  • Physical & Logistics: Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift equipment; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

What Success Looks Like

  • Versatility: Seamlessly transitioning between assisting on large-scale shoots and independently managing social media deliverables.

  • Content Impact: Increasing the "social-readiness" of our projects, providing clients with immediate, high-value digital assets.

  • Growth: Demonstrating the technical and creative growth necessary to transition from contract to a full-time member of the Storyfi team.

Why it Matters

At Storyfi, your role ensures that our clients’ stories don’t just live on a website, but thrive where their audience is most active. By bridging the gap between production and social strategy, you help turn every project into a multifaceted strategic asset.

How to Apply

Candidates must submit a resume and a portfolio or demo reel highlighting both traditional video work and social media content examples. This position is based in Metro Detroit.
